Whether you want to learnt to dive, already have some experience diving or want to become a professional diver, we have something to cater for your needs.
Doing any course with us entitles you to 10% discount on any further courses and 30% off fun dive trips. This is valid for one year from the date of your original course.
As a National Geographic Diver, your certification signifies that you have the skills and knowledge of a PADI Open Water Diver plus increased buoyancy control and observation skills. You’ll practise hovering in various positions, meaning that you get closer to aquatic creatures without disturbing them. You’ll have the skills to investigate features of a dive site that other divers may never see. During the course, you’ll complete an exploration project, concentrating on one aspect of the underwater world. You will practise different navigation patterns underwater so that you can feel confident finding your way around a dive site.
The first three and a half days of this course are the same as the Open Water Course. You’ll then go on to do 2 further days of training, doing 3 dives that include reef mapping, marine life identification, as well as advanced buoyancy training. Exclusive to the Coral Grand Divers package is a further dive; a deep dive where you’ll go down to 30 metres. This dive is classed as a PADI Deep Adventure Dive, and as such will give you the certification required to dive deep anywhere in the world. It also counts as one dive towards the PADI Advanced course.
The original complete beginner’s course - gives you the license to dive worldwide. You’ll learn how to dive independently of a dive professional - safely and sensibly, so that you get the maximum enjoyment out of diving.
The course consists of an afternoon or morning of diving in the swimming pool (or a quiet bay) and four dives. There are also some classroom sessions, however don’t let this put you off, it’s nothing like school! You’ll watch some DVD’s, do some quick knowledge reviews and everything you learn has a practical application to the diving you’ll be doing.
On dives 3 and 4, you’ll be joined by a professional videographer, who will document your qualification as an Open Water Diver. The DVD is about 25 minutes in length and is fully personalised and professionally edited. It further includes underwater and Ko Tao footage. You have the option to buy.
An Open Water Referral means that you complete any part of the course (usually all the theory and pool work) at home. So when you arrive at Coral Grand Divers, you do four open water dives to receive your PADI Open Water certification.
A shorter certification course that allows you to dive to 12 metres, anywhere in the world, with a PADI professional. You can upgrade to Open Water at any time.

Discover Scuba Diving offers you a ‘diving experience’ day. You will not earn a certification. If you only have one day, however, it’s a fun way to appreciate what diving is all about.

It is a 2-3 hour programme consisting of a session in the swimming pool, plus a review session of your diving knowledge, including dive planning with the RDP.

Do the Deep Dive and Underwater Navigation Dive plus any other three Adventure Dives. As well as allowing you to explore your interests underwater, this course teaches you to dive in more diverse conditions. Some dive operations require you to be an Advanced Diver to dive their more interesting and challenging sites. Doing your Advanced course ensures that you have both the confidence and the qualification to dive wherever you want to.
Don’t be average, get specialised! This is your opportunity to focus on a particular field, be it deep diving, the aquatic environment, underwater photography, or search and recovery, and many more.
As a Rescue Diver, you will gain more confidence in your diving abilities, and you’ll learn to look out for your fellow divers. You will become skilled at recognising and preventing a potential problem. But if a problem does occur, you’ll know how to handle it. As the saying goes… know what to do when no-one else does. You’ll learn first aid and safety procedures, be it on land or underwater.
Many people find that this course is one of the most gratifying, but it’s also fun (for you and the rest of the crew who become zealous actors in the scenarios!).
Before you start the Rescue Diver course, you will first complete a First Aid qualification, called EFR (Emergency First Response). If you can show proof of a sanctioned course in CPR, Primary Care and Basic First Aid, Secondary Care within the last two years, you do not need to do the EFR course.
The morning in the pool, the afternoon in the ocean… just another day at the office?! Sign up for your Divemaster course now and earn your ticket to work and dive worldwide. No two days will ever be the same. Imagine the only time you have to look at your watch is to check your bottom time!
On this course you will learn to confidently brief and then lead certified divers around a site pointing out to them the many fascinating creatures below and yes….bring them back to the boat …all without having to surface! With the development of both your diving and interpersonal skills, and the adherence to safe diving practices, you can confidently brief, lead and gain the respect of your divers by making them feel safe and making it all FUN at the same time…which is what a true professional does.
Gaining more diving knowledge, developing exemplary diving skills and becoming proficient at handling and supervising a possible rescue situation are all part of the course.
You’ll also assist an instructor in the teaching of various dive courses. You’ll experience the excitement and feel the gratification of taking some one down under for the very first time - take a look at their expression, you will never forget it. You feel like you have accomplished something, changed a life and made a difference. If you enjoy this part of the course the most, you could take the next step and do your instructor course at Coral Grand Divers, a 5-star Instructor Development Centre.
